Macro Mojo is for people who want to explore and understand the economy: researchers, students, journalists, analysts, and curious readers. You can use it to follow a particular indicator, compare economic series, or organise the charts you return to regularly.
Where does the data come from?
Macro Mojo brings together published macroeconomic data. The underlying statistics come from their original providers; for example, our UK inflation dashboard uses Office for National Statistics data. Check the source information for the dataset you are using, and consult the original publisher for its definitions and methodology.
Which countries and topics can I explore?
Coverage varies by country and dataset. Topics include inflation, economic output, labour markets, and interest rates. The data explorer lets you browse the available datasets and series. Macro Mojo is still in development, and coverage is being expanded.
Explore the data (account required)How should I read the dates on a chart?
An observation date identifies the period the data describes. A publication date tells you when a release or chart snapshot was published. These are different: a release published this month may describe an earlier month or quarter. Frequency and release schedules vary across series, and historical observations can be revised by the source.
Do charts always show the original series?
Charts can display source series or transformations such as growth rates and rebased indices. When comparing charts, check the units, frequency, seasonal adjustment, and any transformation shown in the chart configuration or accompanying notes. Series with similar names can measure different things.
Do I need an account?
You can read this page and browse our published public dashboards without signing in. An account is needed to use the data explorer and create and manage your own dashboards.
Create an accountCan I download charts or share a dashboard?
Use a chart’s export menu to see its available image and data download options. You can also choose to share a personal dashboard using a sharing link. Anyone with an active sharing link can view that shared dashboard, so only share what you intend others to see.
Is Macro Mojo free to use?
Macro Mojo offers Free and Pro plans. The plans provide different allowances for personal dashboards, charts, and saved series. See the pricing page for the current features and prices; if you are already signed in, it will take you to your billing page.
